Plastic waste is affecting the ecosystem, living environment, human health and sustainable development of each country every day and every hour. If we do not have effective and timely solutions, the negative impacts of plastic waste will become very serious. At Nghê Prana, we do not use plastic bottled water, plastic straws or plastic bags and we replaced disposable plastic water bottles with filtered water and reusable glass bottles. We use environmentally friendly materials and we work together with guests about linen washings and toiletries.
We have coordinated with local farmers to minimize packaging and food waste. By working and buying locally, we not only support our neighbors, but lessen our environmental footprint. For example, our eggs are bought here in Cam Nam island and our food waste is separated and brought back to the farm where the chickens can enjoy a healthy vegetarian diet.
Nghê Prana offers standard toiletries completely free for the duration of your stay. However, we encourage you let us know what toiletries you will need as most guests prefer to bring their own. When you do not use the toiletries, we will donate the amount saved to local charities who support vaccinating and caring for animals.
At Nghê Prana you can join our “Expand your heart” ceremony. Every month on the full moon, and the first day of the year, Nghê Prana organizes a simple ceremony, without following too much ceremonial framework. “Prana” will be your companion for this activity as we feel the love in our hearts by liberating animals destined for Death. This way, we further develop awareness, gratitude and compassion for all living creatures we meet.
Our monthly animal release provides a reminder of mercy and awareness to all living beings in distress. We purchase animals locally, who are about to be killed, then release them in a responsible way. Our Nghê Prana does not impose freedom according popular animals. Regardless of the quantity, the amount, the beauty, or the price, all beings are equal.
During the ceremony we “water the seeds of love” by breathing deeply together, listening to the gong and quietly freeing the animals.
What comes from the heart will touch the heart.
